Powell Reunion 2012: The View in Midway

We had some incredible view this weekend at our cabin in Midway, Utah.  Here are just a few snapshots of what we got to enjoy.  We also had a few rainstorms that created some incredible lightening.  The variation of all of the clouds combined with the different lights of the day created some pretty neat sights.

Powell Reunion 2012: More Pictures

We had such a great time at this year's Powell Reunion!  Here are a few more pictures of our adventures.

Ashley pulled out Ellie's favorite lion and pulled her around with it.  They had a great time playing together!

Jacob found lots of fun toys to play with, including a nerf gun!
Grandma found some aprons for the kiddos to decorate.  Here they are coloring away.

Ellie LOVES Aunt Lisa's "Fish Farts" game.  She found a corner to hide while she played.
Cute girls!

More pictures of the blankets that Grandma made.
 All of the blankets.
Grandma made cute pillow cases that say "Me and My Cousins."  They each have their own name on it and then they use paint to each make a hand print on each pillow case.  When it dried they wrote their names by their hand print.  They loved this one!

During our morning and evening devotionals Ellie loved snuggling up next to Grandpa Powell.  She was loving on him all weekend and even started saying "Gaga" (Grandpa)!

Brent snapped some pictures of Jacob sleeping on Sunday morning.  He was SO tired after playing hard for three days!

Powell Reunion 2012: Hogle Zoo

Today we got to go to the Hogle Zoo in SLC, UT!  The kids had a great time discovering all of the animals.  Our favorite part was the bird show.  It was a 25 minute program set to music.  The birds were allowed free flight.  Our little family was sitting on the very back row and got flapped on our heads a few times by some of the birds that were going past us.  The kids also enjoyed the elephant show, a ride on the carousel and a ride on the train.

Ellie sat for 1/2 of the bird show in her hiking backpack.  Here she is just hanging out.

The kids & cousins trying to find the perfect spot to take a picture on the lions.
Jacob moping because "his" spot was taken.

Now he's happy!  Jacob got the perfect spot for his picture.

Ellie and this creature stared at each other for quite a while.
While waiting to ride the train Ellie got tired.  She was playing Aunt Lisa's "Fish Farts" game and decided it would be more comfortable to lay down on the ground.  Silly girl.

Powell Reunion 2012: The Heber Creeper

Today we got to go on the Heber Creeper in Midway, Utah.  It is an old train engine and passenger car that is still in use for entertainment trips.  The entire ride was about 3 hours long with a 1/2 hour break for the engine to reattach on the opposite side of the passenger car to take us back.  Jacob enjoyed watching this process.

The kids (especially Jacob) were thrilled with the ride!  There were even train robbers who came on looking for the money box.  Jacob was enthralled!  He kept his hands up for about 10 minutes and the conductor had to come and let him know that they caught the robbers and that he could put his hands down.  We had a great time.  Thanks Grandpa & Grandma Powell!
